Bloodstone, also known as heliotrope, is a dark green variety of chalcedony quartz speckled with red spots of iron oxide, resembling droplets of blood. It is primarily found in India, Brazil, Australia, and the United States. Types of bloodstone include the classic variety with prominent red inclusions and heliotrope, which may have yellow or other colored spots.
